Snorkelling - Madeira Tourismus

In Madeira the water temperature is ideal for snorkelling from April to December.
Most of the days the year around, snorkelling is possible and a great adventure. In the winter month the north coast can be a bit wild on some days, so then please stay away from snorkelling. You will find a lot of fish in many colours and sizes. Stay near the cliffs and the pebbled beaches. The sea goes quickly deeper and then nothing is to be seen. The sea around the cliff of Garajau, just go down to the sea, below the Cristus Rei statue, is a sea nature reserve. It has a wonderful sea life.
