Madeira is a great place for scuba diving, both at the north and the south coast. Near Garajau you will find the natural sea water reserve with a fantastic sea life. The same can be said about Desertas. To get to these remote islands, you will have to go by one of the boats leaving Funchal on different days. You will need a diving certificate to go scuba diving. If you do not have one, contact some of the diving school to get a licence course.
